Suicide Prevention Awareness Art Contest
August 30, 2023: BryLin Hospital is hosting a Suicide Prevention Awareness Art Contest in September, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The contest is open to people in the Western New York community and provides a creative outlet to express feelings about suicide prevention and raise awareness of this important issue.
Destigmatize Mental Health:
Art has a unique ability to convey complex emotions and experiences. We are encouraging participants to explore a theme of “HOPE” through their art and this contest can contribute to destigmatizing discussions around mental health and suicide.
We hope this Suicide Prevention Awareness Art Contest can act as a conversation starter. People submitting and/or viewing these artworks might be encouraged to discuss their own experiences with mental health, suicide, or the experiences of their loved ones. The ultimate goal is to foster an environment where these topics are openly discussed and addressed.
Qualified art can be in any of the following forms… paintings, drawings, or poems (maybe a song?). The winning entries would be displayed in the Hospital, on the website and/or on social media.
- THEME: The theme of the contest will be “HOPE“, as in BryLin’s tag line – With HELP, There’s HOPE℠. Submissions should incorporate this theme.
