Sanjay Gupta, MD, Named 2019 Physician of the Year by the AAPA
Buffalo, N.Y., January 23, 2020 – BryLin Behavioral Health System congratulates Sanjay Gupta, MD, psychiatrist and Chief Medical Officer (CMO), for being named the 2019 Physician of the Year by the Asian American Physician Association (AAPA). In addition to his duties as CMO at BryLin, Dr. Gupta’s current practice includes consulting with several other behavioral health organizations and is an attending psychiatrist at several long-term care facilities.

Dr. Gupta’s career has been focused on treating the severe and persistently psychiatrically ill patients with mood and psychotic disorders. Additionally, he was also involved with clinical drug development for psychiatric disorders as well as Alzheimer’s disease. He has been actively involved in teaching residents, medical students, physician assistant students, and nurse practitioner students. He has published extensively, with over 150 publications in various scientific journals, and has presented at numerous national and international scientific meetings. He has provided mentorship to several students and junior faculty. He currently has appointments in the Departments’ of Psychiatry as a Clinical Professor at Jacobs School of Medicine as well as SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse, NY. He also serves as faculty at Daemen College and D’Youville College, Buffalo, NY.
