Mary Swygert Named Executive Director of Patient Care Services at BryLin Hospital
Buffalo, NY – BryLin Hospital is proud to announce the appointment of Mary Swygert, R.N., as the new Executive Director of Patient Care Services. Mary brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and dedication to her new role, having served in healthcare for 29 years and distinguished herself as a champion of innovative and compassionate patient care. “My goal is to build on BryLin’s proud history of excellence by strengthening programs and implementing improvements to meet the evolving needs of those we serve,” Mary stated.
Mary joins BryLin from OLV Human Services in Lackawanna, where she served as Chief Clinical Officer. During her 24-year tenure, she led transformative initiatives, including the integration of trauma-informed care, which prioritizes understanding and addressing the effects of trauma. Her efforts earned accolades such as the 2021 Excellence in Health Care Award and a 2014 Nurse of Distinction nomination.
In addition to her leadership roles, Mary serves as a Clinical Instructor at Erie 1 BOCES, educating LPN students in the Workforce Development Center.
Mary’s academic achievements include a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Medaille College, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from SUNY Buffalo State, and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Erie Community College. This well-rounded background, paired with her extensive professional experience, equips her to lead BryLin’s clinical services with vision and purpose.
