BryLin Hospital Announces 2nd Annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Art Contest for September
Theme: “You Are Not Alone” – Emphasizing the Importance of Support in Addressing Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
Buffalo, NY — BryLin Hospital is proud to announce the launch of its 2nd Annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Art Contest, coinciding with Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in September. This year’s theme, “You Are Not Alone”, underscores the vital role of support in addressing mental health and suicide prevention, reminding individuals that they do not have to face their struggles in isolation and that help is available.
The Suicide Prevention Awareness Art Contest invites residents across Western New York to express their perspectives on suicide prevention through the creative medium of art. Open to participants from Erie, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming counties, the contest aims to inspire artwork that reflects the theme of support and connectedness, reinforcing the message that reaching out for help is a sign of strength.
Art has the unique ability to communicate complex emotions and foster empathy. Through this contest, BryLin Hospital hopes to spark conversations that encourage individuals to seek help and offer support to those in need. By focusing on the theme “You Are Not Alone,” the contest serves as a platform for participants to highlight the importance of community, connection, and solidarity in the face of mental health challenges.
Submissions can include a variety of artistic forms, such as paintings, drawings, and poems. The winning entries will be showcased at BryLin Hospital, on the hospital’s website, and across social media platforms. This visibility will help spread the message that support is available and that no one should feel alone in their journey toward mental wellness.
The contest is open to individuals aged 12 and older who reside in Western New York. Winners will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on September 24th, where their artistic contributions will be honored, and their message of support will be amplified. The top three winners will receive Visa Gift Cards: $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $150 for 3rd place.
To participate, please see a complete description of the Contest and Contest Rules on BryLin’s website.
The winners will be contact between September 19th and 23rd and announced via social media, the official BryLin Hospital website, and a press release following the awards ceremony. Selected artworks will be displayed within BryLin Hospital for 30 days, serving as a powerful reminder that You Are Not Alone.
